We have a long day here at Wang Ting Tea in Alishan. We will be guided by Master Wang and also by our instructor, Kevin Liang to start from the tea garden, plucking, outdoor withering, indoor withering, tumbling and oxidation, panning & fixation, primary rolling, drying... and the tea will be rested to be wrapped rolling the second morning... Expecting this day will be ended at 1:30am (the second day)... Why? Only when you have been through the whole process with your eyes, noses, hands, and your mind right by the leaf... you will never get it.
Let us enjoy the beautiful tea gardens at early morning in Alishan ...
Our members start to learn in the tea garden...
The leaf delivered in... and we have to start our outdoor withering...
Ready to move indoor for indoor withering...
After a few rounds of fluffing...
The leaf will be poured in bamboo tumbler to get tumbling and mixing...
Piling up and ready for leaf to get oxidized...
Ready to pan-fire (fixation) and primary rolling and drying...
After a long day, everyone is tired and sleepy... but we are waiting to cup the tea we made.
The crude tea that #2018TOST made actually very good...per Master Wang and Kevin Liang. Josephine has called the day. Tomorrow morning will return for the wrapped rolling...
Wait a minute... during the process... our members are not resting at all. We take them to visit tea gardens and also there are many sessions of cupping and studying, too.
